CCA transformed an existing asphalt drive and lawn into a meaningful memorial plaza and inviting outdoor dining space adjacent to the employee cafeteria. Designed as a respite for Bell’s staff, the plan balanced reflection and function, creating a seamless transition between the memorial and dining zones.
Working closely with the client, CCA developed a rectilinear scheme that featured a grand memorial plaza nestled among mature oaks. A central flag court serves as the focal point, with specialty paving, granite monuments honoring veterans and co-workers, and integrated seating. Seat walls preserve tree grades while defining intimate dining pods. Shade- and drought-tolerant plantings soften the space, and a modern pavilion anchors the dining area adjacent to a large lawn for special events.
Additional enhancements included a sub-drain system to improve drainage and pedestrian-scale lighting to support shift work. Completed on an accelerated timeline, the project successfully delivered a meaningful tribute and a highly utilized, welcoming space for employees.
