Forest Green Library
Sitting on a tree-filled three acre lot, the library features indoor spaces visually linked to the outdoors with large windows including an outdoor space for community gatherings. CCA collaborated with the architect to site building to save specimen live oaks. Staff met with commissioned artist on site to locate custom art installation to preserve the trees. CCA prepared landscape plans featuring low water demand and native plants creating biodiversity achieving LEED Gold.
The storm detention area was transformed to a site feature as an enhanced vegetative bioswale with decorative river rock, boulders, and stream bank ecosystem of native grasses and wildflowers crossed by a pedestrian bridge.
