Sheffield Elementary School

CCA developed the landscape design for the renovation of a historic school campus, supporting the addition of a new auditorium and classrooms while reinforcing the site’s cultural and architectural significance. The landscape creates a tree-lined outdoor amphitheater that extends learning and performance beyond the building, offering students a flexible setting for arts, gathering, and education.

Working closely with the Architect and the Arts District, CCA shaped a public plaza oriented toward the AT&T Performing Arts Center and enhanced the streetscape along Flora Street to strengthen connections between campus and city. Coordination with the Landmark Commission guided landscape improvements along the historic frontage, ensuring the design respected and reinforced the campus’s architectural legacy while introducing vibrant, contemporary outdoor spaces.
