Ensuring seamless integration of the building's function with the exterior is a top priority. CCA fashioned the space between the proposed building and parking garage into an outdoor dining area. For later improvements, walkways were thoughtfully integrated into the landscape, providing nursing students with hands-on experience in teaching future patients how to operate wheelchairs.

Furthermore, CCA implemented a sustainable approach by capturing cooling tower "blow down" water for landscape irrigation, reducing water consumption and promoting environmental responsibility. This commitment to sustainable design principles contributed to the project's LEED Gold certification.
